Net sales for the first quarter of 2026 increased by 7.6% to $1,560.1 million, up from $1,449.9 million in the prior year. Net income attributable to Teledyne rose 20.3% to $226.8 million, compared to $188.6 million in the first quarter of 2025. Diluted earnings per common share increased to $4.85 from $3.99 in the comparable prior-year period. Operating income grew 13.5% to $294.2 million, with an improved operating margin of 18.9% compared to 17.9% in Q1 2025. Cash and cash equivalents increased to $521.4 million at March 29, 2026, from $352.4 million at December 28, 2025. The company completed the acquisition of DD-Scientific for approximately $53.4 million in cash during the first quarter of 2026, integrating it into the Instrumentation segment. Subsequent to the quarter end, Teledyne repaid $450.0 million of its Fixed Rate Senior Notes due April 2026, primarily using cash on hand. Research and development expense increased by $10.3 million to $84.6 million, mainly due to higher R&D in the Digital Imaging segment. Selling, general and administrative expense as a percentage of net sales decreased to 15.2% from 16.1%, partly due to lower corporate transaction and integration costs. The effective tax rate for the first quarter of 2026 was 18.6%, down from 21.0% in the prior year, benefiting from net discrete income tax benefits of $8.0 million.
