Oncolytics Biotech will present translational data at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting regarding its lead candidate, pelareorep. Data from the GOBLET (pancreatic cancer) and AWARE-1 (breast cancer) studies show pelareorep induces both innate and adaptive immune responses. The mechanism involves double-stranded RNA signaling, which expands preexisting tumor-reactive immune cells. In pancreatic cancer, expansion of mutant KRAS-specific T-cell clones in the blood correlated with reductions in tumor volume. In breast cancer, gene expression profiling showed increased antiviral and immune gene expression, including markers for tertiary lymphoid structures.
