Genworth Financial's President and Chief Executive Officer, Thomas J. McInerney, is taking a temporary leave of absence to focus on his health. Jerome T. Upton, currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 7, 2026. Mr. Upton has been with Genworth and its predecessors since 1998 and has served as CFO since March 2023. The company stated that it is well-positioned for continued success with a strong leadership team and that the existing strategy will be executed during the interim period.
