Assembly Biosciences is broadening the clinical program for ABI-6250, an oral NTCP inhibitor, to include primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). The company plans to initiate a Phase 2 clinical study for HDV in Q4 2026. A Phase 2 basket study for cholestatic liver diseases (PBC and PSC) is targeted for Q1 2027, pending regulatory feedback. The expansion is supported by Phase 1a data showing target engagement and completed chronic toxicology studies.
